Class 7 Spawns
The game keeps one allowance per season, shared by a handful of rare walking herds and the N West Area Whale. The first of these to appear uses it up. Missed seasons do not stack. A new game starts with one allowance already in hand.
- Only a herd that is actually placed spends the allowance. If the spawn spot is blocked, it is kept.
- Ordinary walking herds of Squid, Crab, Koala and Turtle are safe to hunt. Only a few cells of those maps are class-7 cells, and only a herd that pops from one of those cells spends the season.
- You spend a field-area allowance by walking near one of those cells. Dungeon floors check class 7 on their own spawn tick.

- The Turtle cells sit on the green West maps. Winter, snowbound years, and the years after you file the 18 West species all load the blizzard map instead, so those Turtle cells never fire then.
- Ladybugs only start after the scene that plays the first time Ken walks a marked patch of Annabis 1F. Before that scene the floor has none. If the herd wanders far off-screen it is removed and will not come back this season: Annabis 1F has no season clock, so leave, let the season change in a field area, and return.
- Tree Frog is spring-only and has no ordinary spawn. The east-half check is UNVERIFIED.
THE WHALE
The Whale is placed when N West Area loads, if it is not autumn and the allowance is still unused. That spends the season even if you never walk over to it. One chance per season: leave and it is gone. Never in autumn. Herd sizes and sexes are on the Rare Animals page.
- Want the Whale? Go to N West Area right after a season change, outside autumn. Until then, stay off Xoth's east half in spring, Annabis 1F after its scene, and the class-7 cells above in their seasons.
- Entering N West Area outside autumn spends the allowance (if it is still there), so no Ladybug, Squid, Crab, Koala, Turtle or Tree Frog from their once-per-season cells that season.
- Autumn's allowance can only go to Crab, Koala or Ladybug.
